The Black Community Development Project (BCDP) and Pilton Community Health Project (PCHP) worked with a group of people from the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) community in Greater Pilton in 2008 to explore:

• what participants felt affected their health
• the community’s experience of health related services.

New Minority Ethnic Mum's Support Group

New group for mum's with children under the age of 5 years old.
Come and meet other mum's with children under 5.
Learn and share experiences.
Take time out for yourself.
Take part in activities that interest you.
All in a safe and supportive environment.
Your children will be looked after by qualified workers in a large spacious creche. Great opportunity for your kids to interact with other children.

Advice & Support for Minority Ethnic Children & Young People

BCDP has a new advice and support service for Black & Minority Ethnic children and young people 5-18 years old living in North Edinburgh.

The service can be accessed by children and young people themselves or by referral from a parent/carer, teacher or youth worker.

Our Advice Worker Zaki El-Salahi can help with:

  • Bullying.
  • Problems at school.
  • Problems in your neighbourhood.
  • Racism and Prejudice.
  • Knowing what your rights are.
  • Need information.

English Language Courses
